FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BOZEMAN, MT -- April 23, 2018 -- Pulsara announced today the release of their app version 8.0, which includes the ability for clinicians to consult and transfer any patient to another facility. The company's release notes for this version are below:
This latest version changes the game, enabling a true regional communication network across multiple hospitals.
There is no other solution that truly connects prehospital, intrafacility and interfacility communication on a single platform. You are the only healthcare leaders in the world that have this kind of capability. Be proud of your vision and commitment to patient care.
The Pulsara 8.0 release includes the ability to consult with specialists about a complicated patient and also transfer the patient between facilities. We’ve aptly named it “Consult/Transfer." And yes, this is huge for our vision of connected teams! But as the administrator, don’t fret — there's nothing you need to worry about if your team updates to 8.0. All of the functionality will be enabled by your Pulsara account manager.
To get the new functionality, your Pulsara account manager can help enable Consult and/or Transfer for your region.
WHAT'S SO COOL ABOUT THIS RELEASE?
How much time do you have? Here are some of our favorite things about 8.0 that we think bring major value to teams.
UNITE WORKFLOWS
Version 8.0 allows clinicians to unite workflows for ALL methods of arrival: ED, EMS, Inpatient, and now Consult & Transfer. That’s huge for treatment time outcomes — no more frustration of working with different and incongruent hospital protocols.
OPTIMIZE TEAM RESOURCES
Remember when you ticked off the cath lab by making them come in at 3am for what ended up being a false activation? Let us help you with that. 8.0 improves your utilization of time and resources by making sure you can alert the right teams at the right time in the process. This reduces the cost of alerting too many people.
UNITE COMMUNICATION
Enjoy centralized patient communication with ease. With the addition of Consult/Transfer, you can update and exchange information across all entities involved in a case, including MULTIPLE hospitals and EMS agencies.
PREVENT SYSTEM LEAKAGE
Sounds gross, right? Well, in this case, it’s a win! When possible and appropriate, keep financially valuable patients within your health system.
QUALITY ASSURANCE / QUALITY IMPROVEMENT
With insights into your referral patterns and visibility into data and metrics, you can now drive efficiencies into the transfer process.
QUICKLY TRANSFER OR CONSULT FOR ANY PATIENT
Yep, really. Pulsara helps you improve your facility’s speed for accepting transfers, to get your critical patients the treatment they need quickly.
Pulsara 8.0 truly unlocks your region and simplifies the communication process. Here’s how the Consult/Transfer process works ...
PULSARA 8.0: CONNECTING YOUR REGION
UNIFY
Unify team communication across an entire region. First, create a dedicated patient channel. Then, see the entire care team across multiple EMS Agencies and Hospitals.
CONSULT
Consult between hospitals to coordinate patient care. With a few taps, quickly add another hospital to your dedicated patient communication channel. The “Requests Card” lives right inside your patient channel for easy tracking.
Select teams at the consulted hospital from a list of completely configurable consult teams for each hospital, by patient type.
Consult teams, just like the other teams, are configured for each hospital in the admin dashboard.
TRANSFER
Transfer a patient from one hospital to another.
You guessed it, with a couple of taps, add another hospital to the dedicated patient communication channel.
The hospital receiving a transfer request can accept or reject the transfer … with just a tap.
And, because it’s about people, Pulsara allows you to easily configure which teams at the receiving hospital will get alerted when a transfer is requested and/or accepted.
COMMUNICATE
Don’t miss a beat! All team members get push alerts for key patient events.
And to speed communication and patient care, limited patient data is shared across Hospitals and EMS (everything that Pulsara can track is shared in a centralized location).
For additional clarity, key information is tagged to the person and entity who added it.
Ahhhh, the smell of transparency.
WHILE WE HAVE YOU HERE ...
What’s up with the new Manage Cases Screen? Glad you asked! Some of you may have noticed our new and improved Manage Cases Screen on the Pulsara Browser App. This will greatly improve your experience.
Here's what's new:
Find Patients More Easily
With new search parameters, you can search by case type like you've always been able to do. But now, the date range defaults to the current date. That allows you to easily view your most recent cases. Patients are sorted in descending chronological order (newest at the top) by default.
Are you an Admin at multiple hospitals? No problem! Pinpoint the data you're looking for by searching by Hospital.
Unified Case List
Now, you can search for patients of any type! See your General, STEMI, and Stroke patients next to one another in the same beautiful list.
Filter Your Data
Got lots of data? Use the filters across the top of the grid to locate exactly what you're looking for.
Summarized Search Results
The top of the search results now summarizes your search parameters and the count of the results. And, you can easily go back and refine your search if necessary.
YOU ASKED, WE DELIVERED
We’re confident the new functionality 8.0 brings to your teams will make your care process even more efficient. As always, please reach out with any questions and remember to contact your Account Manager to activate the new features.
Breaking silos and taking names,
Team Pulsara
