Pulsara has announced the release of their app version 4.6, which includes new features such as configurable alert sounds, a new PIN screen, and the ability to set goals for various benchmarks in STEMI and stroke cases.

Highlights for ALL users include:

  • Goals for Bar Timers - Set target goals for key benchmarks in STEMI and Stroke treatment protocols. These goals are displayed to all users on the Pulsara active patient screen.
  • New PIN screen for iOS - The Pulsara lock screen where you enter your secure PIN has been overhauled to be more intuitive and friendly.
Highlights for hospital users include:
  • Configurable Alert Sound - Choose your own sound for primary alerts - when a new patient is activated.

On iOS, users can select from a menu of sounds created by Pulsara.

NOTE: on iOS, it is not technically possible to select from the list of ringtones installed on the device since Apple does not provide this capability.

In regards to the new alert sounds, VP of Development, Erich Hannan said "Our Lead QA Engineer, Brian Crumrine, moonlights as the drummer for a band called Sweet Groovalicious Funk Machine. He composed the Pulsara Funkalicious sound in a recording studio here in Bozeman."

Pulsara has also added the ability to set goals for each bar timer - in addition to the already displayed historical averages. "We know that fast overall times for acute care cases are the culmination of a lot of well-orchestrated steps. This feature helps your team to hit key times for every step of the way," said Founder and CEO of Pulsara, Dr. James Woodson.

To get started, admins can navigate to Hospital > Hospital Details > Edit, and set goals for:

  • STEMI ED Door In to Door Out Goal
  • STEMI Case Activated to Cath Lab Ready Goal
  • STEMI Door to Lytics Goal (for non PCI capable centers)
  • STEMI Door to Device Goal (for PCI centers)
  • Stroke Door to First NIHSS Goal
  • Stroke Door to CT Completed Goal
  • Stroke Door to CTA Completed Goal
  • Stroke Door to Lytics Goal
  • Stroke IR Team Activated to IR Ready Goal (for IR capable centers)
  • Stroke Door to Puncture Goal (for IR capable centers)

The Pulsara lock screen where users enter their secure PIN has been overhauled to be more intuitive and friendly and developers have fixed a bug that sometimes removed the PIN screen for iOS users.

Pulsara also announced that they are hiring.  See open positions here.

IMPORTANT NOTES: An upgrade to the 4.6 mobile app version is required. Two weeks after releasing 4.6, users will be required to upgrade before they can login or PIN into the app again.
  • As always, users' same login/password will continue to work.
  • If users have Android, or have enabled iOS to automatically update apps, then the Pulsara 4.6 versions will be automatically downloaded and upgraded on their phones or tablets.
