We learn more about COVID-19 as well as our Systems of Care every ... single ... day.
Many are trying to patch together quick solutions and are grateful for the relaxation of HIPAA and other telemedicine regulations, but what is your Post-COVID (round 1) plan?
Pulsara's COVID-19 package is 100% free and is flexible enough to accommodate any facility type, resources available, and specific COVID-19 management goals. This flexibility is what makes Pulsara so powerful, but sometimes we need to start by solving one problem at a time.
In this blog, we will highlight the value of replacing the traditional EMS radio report with Pulsara. In the diagram below, you can see that when EMS crew #1 gives a radio report to Hospital #1, the communication easily drops off or is lost among internal teams (the same can be said for EMS#2 to Hospital #2).
With Pulsara, there is a SINGLE communication channel for any patient event, meaning everyone on the care team has all the information as soon as it's available. And the great news is the functionality remains FREE for EMS and the receiving Emergency Department LONG AFTER WE'VE DEFEATED CORONAVIRUS. In addition, it can be a building block to a more comprehensive COVID-19 System of Care.
As COVID-19 continues to spread, minimizing and tracking exposure to the virus is of the utmost importance as we aim to protect those on the frontlines.
One way Pulsara can help minimize exposure to COVID-19 in hospitals is through early EMS notification when crews are inbound with a potential COVID-19 patient. This allows ED teams to clear the area of any other patients and to prepare themselves to receive the patient by donning their PPE. In addition, this channel is secure and eliminates the risk of inappropriate people listening in on an 800 MHz broadcast.
Crucially, if a suspected COVID-19 patient tests positive, Pulsara also allows hospital teams to track which EMS crews brought that patient in so they can notify those clinicians who may have been exposed.
Far beyond the functionality of simply alerting an isolation team, hospitals now have the option to use Pulsara to activate and manage their internal teams as well as leverage live video and other multimedia tools during the Emergency Department Evaluation and Inpatient stay. To further limit hospital personnel exposure, they can even leverage the patient’s mobile phone for secure live video interactions.
If your teams could benefit from early EMS notification of an inbound COVID-19 patient, sign up right here.
