Florida Man Credits Innovative Care Team With Allowing Him to Return to Normal Lifestyle After Stroke [Press Release]

A local news station in Fort Lauderdale, FL reported yesterday that the care teams of Memorial Healthcare System used innovative care coordination strategies on a recent case, and made a "life-saving difference" for their stroke patient, Armand Kaladi.

Because two million brain cells die each minute a patient is having a stroke, every second counts during the treatment process. The hospital that treated Mr. Kaladi praised the ability of a new platform called Pulsara to save critical patients time by getting the entire hospital staff updated on the patient's condition and the correct resources mobilized before the patient even arrives at the hospital.

According to Dr. Brijesh Mehta, M.D., a neurointerventional surgeon at Memorial Healthcare System in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, “One notification goes to all the staff so we’re all on the same page and when the patient arrives, we’re ready.”

And hospital teams aren't the only ones who are praising the abilities and potentials of technology in healthcare. Mark Ellis, Fire Chief at Hallendale Beach Fire Rescue said “We’ve really seen a huge, huge reduction in time in getting patients to treatment by the new process we’ve created here and the inclusion of some of these technologies.”

In the video and article released by Ivanhoe Newswire, the reporters called Pulsara "A life-saving app that takes just seconds to use, when seconds matter." Kaladi himself remarked that “In my case, it could’ve been the difference in being paralyzed, saving my life or just enjoying a normal lifestyle.”

While Pulsara is excited at the opportunity to create needed change in healthcare, their staff emphasized that it is the people using it who make that positive change possible. "Dr. Mehta, Chief Ellis, and the entire Memorial Healthcare System team truly deserve the credit," said Dr. James Woodson, Founder and CEO of Pulsara. "It is the talent of these care teams that makes all the difference. Pulsara simply helps bring them together."

Pulsara is now available to all EMS teams as well as hospitals to use for free up to the Emergency Department. Visit www.pulsara.com for more information.
