With over 38 years of experience in EMS, emergency response, and the operation of emergency communication centers, Joey Branton is a leading expert in the world of emergency management.
Joey started his career as a Firefighter/EMT-Paramedic in 1983. After a 13-year career in municipal emergency medical services, he joined an emergency physician staffing company in Louisiana. There, he served as risk manager, critical care education coordinator, and information systems architect, leading the company into electronic medical records development with deployment in hospitals around the state.
Joey later served as the Chief Intelligence/Operations Officer for the Louisiana Emergency Response Network (LERN), which coordinates patient transportation for trauma and time-sensitive illness. He was responsible for research, planning, development, and implementation of technical operations for LERN Communication Centers. Most recently, Joey served as the Director of Technology at Acadian Companies, where he worked on Computer Assisted Dispatch (CAD), telecommunications services, software programming services, network services, mobile computing and radio communications, and cybersecurity services. Joey was also responsible for the continuity of operations for two data centers, four secondary PSAP centers in three states, and IT service desk operations, ultimately supporting over 5,000 employees.
As the SVP of Government Affairs at Pulsara, Joey oversees and is responsible for national, regional, and state sales initiatives. He works closely with the executive leadership team on governmental affairs, product management, and strategic planning.
Joey is an avid saltwater kayak fisherman specializing in redfish with fly and spinning tackle. He is also a sporting clays and target shooting enthusiast. Joey's family is the center of his life, including his wife, son, three stepchildren, two daughters-in-law, three step-granddaughters, and two step-grandsons.
